Our journey with tallow began at the end of 2023, when our daughter Madilyn was just 7 months old. One evening, while I was cooking dinner, she was in her walker and accidentally pulled the rice cooker onto herself. We were life-flighted to Shriners Hospital in Galveston, TX, where her treatment began.
Madilyn suffered deep second-degree burns over 22% of her body — including both thighs down to her ankles, her left side, around her belly button, parts of both arms, and a patch on her cheek. As first-time parents, this was a terrifying and overwhelming experience. We put our full faith in Jesus Christ and prayed constantly for her healing.
She spent nearly a week in the hospital under intensive pain management while we were trained on how to care for her wounds. The hospital recommended petroleum-based products — the standard, but also known to contain toxins and possible carcinogens. At the time, not knowing any better, we followed their lead.
As the months went by, her scars became thick, red, and raised. The petroleum products just weren’t helping — her skin stayed dry and irritated. The doctors suggested putting her under anesthesia every three months for laser therapy. That didn’t sit right with us. Instead, we chose to trust what the Lord provides naturally.
That’s when I found a local woman who made whipped tallow. We gave it a try, and it was truly a Godsend. From that point on, we never looked back. Eventually, we started making our own, frustrated by high prices and eager to craft something that worked specifically for Madilyn.
After much trial and error, we landed on a tallow and castor oil blend that changed everything. Her scars are now lighter, softer, and continue to fade — as if they were never even there.
Fast forward to 2024, when we welcomed our second child, Luke. We prayed for a smooth journey this time, but life had another learning experience in store for us — he developed eczema.
After two months of trying to manage it through diet changes while breastfeeding and switching to cleaner household products, we finally decided to try our own tallow products on him. And just like that — voilà — his skin started to clear up!
Now, Luke is almost a year old and only experiences occasional flare-ups. When he does, they usually clear up in less than a week with the consistency and combination of our moisturizing body bar and whipped tallow.
Now, we’re committed to helping others in our community by sharing what we’ve learned. Whether it’s guidance, education, or providing clean, effective products — we want to support you in choosing what’s best for your family.
